On behalf of Shinde group MLA Narendra Bhondekar, Dahi Handi program has been grandly organized on 10 sept 2023 at Dussehra Maidan.However, this programme ran into difficulties when Govinda hung on to the rope tied with dahi handi while breaking it, and a wooden pillar linked with rope crumbled out of no where. At the scene, pandemonium reigned. The present Govinda's body was crushed under the falling wooden column. Preliminary reports indicate that 1 Govinda fractured and 6 Govindas were hurt.

The Dahi Handi programme was put up by Bhandara MLA Bhondekar and featured participation from numerous Govinda teams both inside and outside of the region. Three days prior to the Dahi Handi tournament, preparations begin. The dahi handi was tethered with a rope at a distance of around 50 feet. For this, pillars made of wood were built on either side.However, at around 8.30 p.m., a wooden pillar abruptly toppled, making it obvious that no precautions had been made for Govinda's safety at this location.

Due to the visitor's tardy arrival, the programme which was scheduled to begin in the evening, started much later than expected. Due to heavy rain, the field was entirely muddy. While this is the case, it is crucial that the participating gods are taken care of and remain safe. But the incident of today demonstrates that the organisers utterly disregarded this.Six Govindas from the Bhandara Nasha Mukti Squad were hurt in the event, and one Govinda is thought to have fractured. Thick cords and floral garlands were strung up on two built wooden pillars during the Dahi Handi programme held at the Dussehra Maidan in Bhandara town. The dahi handi was positioned in the centre. On it was also mounted a halogen light.

While everyone was dancing on the song and two Govinda teams were arranged in five to six layers together, a wooden pillar on the right side of the stage suddenly collapsed, injuring some Govindas. An ambulance was then called to transport them to the hospital.Despite the fact that thankfully no lives were lost, the event was exciting for everyone involved—the organisers, the police administration, and the guests. The programme was discontinued by the organisers in the meantime, and it was declared to be finished. At 8:30 p.m., the incident occurred and the scene was documented on camera.
