'Jawan's' Story
In terms of the narrative, "Jawaan" has a complex structure. The movie opens with Azad (Shahrukh Khan) robbing the Mumbai Metro. He works with his lady gang, which includes Lakshmi (Priyamani), Iram (Sanya Malhotra), Helen (Sanjita Bhattacharya), Alia Qureshi, and Lehar Khan. Due to their shared terrible pasts, all of the girls in this girl gang have decided to stand by Azad.Azad, who initially presents as a villain, turns out to be Robin Hood. He steals a sizable ransom from Kali Gaikwad (Vijay Sethupathi), a white-collar businessman who engages in criminal activity, and deposits the money in the bank accounts of those indebted farmers. The weight of their bank debt prompted these farmers to end their lives.
Because her daughter was also in that metro, Kali must also pay this sum of money. Azad, the saviour of the oppressed and disadvantaged ordinary people, does not stop here. In under five hours, he and his group of courageous girls kidnap the Health Minister, exposing the corruption and suffering present in government facilities, and bring about their resolution. To discover Azad's real identity and apprehend him, Police Chief Narmada (Nayanthara) is given the assignment. In spite of Narmada's best efforts to capture Azad, he proposes marriage and the adoption of his daughter. On the wedding day, Narmada learns the truth about Azad. Azad has a unique history. He is the son of the valiant nationalist Vikram Rathod, who oversaw specialised duties for the army.
Thirty years ago, when businessman Kali's weapons swindle was revealed by Vikram during an assignment, Kali executed Vikram for betraying him. Aishwarya, Vikram's wife (Deepika Padukone), is given the death penalty, but Vikram is spared. His memory is gone. Aishwarya explains to her five-year-old son Azad that his father Vikram was a patriot rather than a traitor as she passes away.Riddhi Dogra, Azad's well-intentioned mother, raises him and appoints him the jailer of Bhilwara jail. Will Azad be able to prove his father to be a patriot thirty years after his mother's passing in order to exact revenge? Is Vikram's memory going to come back? Will Azad continue to be Robin Hood and aid the underprivileged and those experiencing systemic injustice? All of these queries have answers in the movie.
'Jawaan' review
In terms of direction, Atlee's movie is hot and spicy in every manner. However, the director has made a 30 year leap and linked it to contemporary issues. Italy has portrayed it with action-emotion, whether it be the hardship of farmers, the suicide problem, the plight of government hospitals, or how the average person is caught in the system's vicious cycle.
Shah Rukh and Nayanthara are in the present, and SRK and Deepika are in the past, in the parallel plots of the movie. But Atlee's movie is full of detours and surprises. The point of the intermission is also intriguing, but the director frequently did not hesitate to use artistic licence. The characters make the melodramatic parts of the movie work. It is heartbreaking to see the farmer hang himself in such helplessness. The six action directors who came together from all over the country and the world are clearly able to work their magic in the spine-tingling action scenes.
Along with the flood of advance reservations, the audience's response demonstrates that Shahrukh Khan is the star of this movie throughout. As both the father and the son, SRK commands the entire movie. Shahrukh is not only a skilled actor; this time, he also has a variety of styles in his appearance, attire, and body language, which he flawlessly performs and keeps the audience spellbound. It's interesting to see how adaptable he is in action scenarios. His hijacked baldness and manner of applying powder have already generated conversation. He is a big, burly man with grey hair who smokes a cigar.
If "Jawaan" were to be referred to as King Khan's best iteration to date, it would not be incorrect. Nayanthara exudes perfect agility and flair as an action woman. However, Deepika Padukone triumphs in terms of their on-screen chemistry. Vijay Sethupathi makes a menacing, deadly, and hilarious villain in Kali. The conflict between heroes and villains is still ongoing.
In addition to Deepika Padukone's special appearance as Aishwarya, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani both manage to make an impression despite playing minor roles in the movie. Present are Ejaz Khan, Sunil Grover, and Riddhi Digra. As the girl gang, the supporting cast is equally excellent.
Why watch: If you enjoy Shahrukh Khan's best performances and drama mixed with entertainment, you should see this movie.
